5:
Can I transfer references from EndNote Web to EndNote Desktop?
|
| Answer:
If you have EndNote version 10.0.2 or later, in your library go to "Tools > EndNote Web..." (in EndNote X1 or later) or "Tools > Transfer References..." (in EndNote X.0.2) and put in your EndNote Web account information in order to transfer references back and forth between EndNote Desktop and EndNote Web. Please note that this method allows you to transfer only 500 records at a time.
If you have EndNote 9 or earlier, you can export references from EndNote Web to a format that can then be imported into EndNote. To do this:
- Create your export list in your EndNote Web library.
- Click the Export link in the left navigation pane, under Organize References.
- Export references from EndNote Web following the export instructions using "RefMan (RIS) Export" as the export style.
- Click the Save To... button and save the export file to your computer.
- Open EndNote.
- Open an existing library or create a new library to receive the EndNote Web references.
- Select Import from the File menu.
- In the Import dialog, click Browse to select the export file.
- Select "Reference Manager (RIS)" as the Import Option.
- For EndNote 8 or later, select "No Translation" as the Text Translation.
